The Other Adults in Your House
This is a page for those folks who are parenting teenagers. These are often experienced as difficult years in family life and parent-child relations. The growing pains are not just physical.
These are the years when the son or daughter might yell out in frustration, "I can't wait until I'm out of this house." And these are the years when the mom or dad might feel the same way.
At the same time, though, these can be years when the parent-child relationship reaches new levels of love, respect, intimacy, trust, and pride.
The key to the new dynamics is that you've got additional adults living in the house now. The question is whether they'll act like it. And whether we'll treat them like it!
